Frequently Asked Questions
What type of boarding do you provide?
We provide an at-home boarding experience for your pup(s) that is much less stressful, and more inclusive than your typical kennel. They receive lots of one-on-one human attention, and have plenty of playtime! Our goal is to ensure they are comfortable, safe, and provided with lots of attention and love. You will be provided with a minimum of 2 updates per day with pictures and/or videos.
What are your requirements for boarding dogs?
They must be human friendly, tolerate other pups, be up to date on core vaccines or titers, and on flea prevention.
Will my pet be unsupervised/left alone?
This is my home. I am here a large majority of the time but have doctor’s appointments, grocery store runs, vet appointments, etc., that I may have to step out for. I have cameras in every room to monitor the pups if I have to leave them, and I do not leave dogs from separate families together when I am not supervising. Everyone has their own area. No dogs are ever left alone overnight.
How do I initiate the process for boarding?
You will fill out my new client intake form found right here , and then you can send me a message once complete.
Do you provide a “meet and greet” prior to boarding?
Yes! I would love the opportunity to meet you and your pup.
What happens during a “meet and greet”?
You and your pup will come inside the main living area of my home and we will go over your pup and their history. These tend to last 15-30 minutes and is a great opportunity for your pup to smell me and my home, and for you to meet me as well. It’s a great way for everyone to become acquainted!
My pet has never been boarded… what do you recommend?
For first-time boarders, we recommend doing an overnight trial before booking your stay. You will book a night to leave your dog with us, and we will let you know how they behaved. For the most part, it is normal for some pups to be a little bit nervous or anxious when in a new environment, and they need a few hours to relax and unwind. Allowing them to sleep over, helps them get to know us, and also, we can assess your dog's temperament while away from home.
Do you have any dogs of your own?
Yes! I have 2 Yorkie-Poos named Max and Lyla and 1 Cava-Poo named Joey.
Where will my pet sleep?
Wherever they are most comfortable. In my bedroom, on the couch, on an orthopedic dog bed, on a dog cot, in a cozy crate… I have lots of options.
Do you have a list of items to bring for boarding?
Yes! This list will be provided along with drop-off instructions.
Do I need to bring my dog’s food/treats?
Yes. For the benefit of your pet, we recommend you bring their own food, as this helps prevent upset stomachs.
Additionally, please bring enough food for the entire stay- if possible, bring extra food! You never know if your trip may have an unexpected delay in return. To ensure you pack enough food for your pet's stay, you can pre-measure and pre-mark their food zip lock baggies or bring the entire food bag or a large container that holds enough food for their stay. If your dog is a picky eater and you suspect they may not eat their food during their stay, you can bring some wet food/toppers to make their meal extra enticing… a hungry dog is not a happy dog.
Do you separate dogs when feeding them?
Yes, we separate dogs when feeding them. Some dogs have food allergies/sensitivities and some dogs have food aggression and do not like other dogs to be nearby when eating. For everyone's safety, we feed each dog separately and individually.
If my pet takes medication, will you administer it for them?
Absolutely! If your dog takes medication, please make sure to bring it and provide instructions on administering it and how often. Additionally, if your dog takes medication on an "as needed" basis - such as anxiety meds or ear medication in case they develop an ear infection, please bring that as well.
Will you provide updates on my dog’s stay?
Absolutely! I send daily updates with photos and/or videos.
Will my pet be allowed on furniture?
Yes!
How often will my dog be let out to potty?
We provide potty breaks every 2-3 hours, puppies go out every 30 minutes - 1 hour during the daytime.
Am I allowed to show up to your home without notice?
We ask that all clients schedule their pick-up and drop-off slots, as I run my services by appointment only.
When is payment due?
A 50% deposit is required to hold your spot, with the other 50% being due before drop-off. An invoice will be sent to you once you are penciled in.
What is your cancellation policy?
A full refund is given if cancelled 7 days before their stay. A 50% refund is given if cancelled less than 7 days before their stay.
Are you licensed, insured, and Dog CPR/First Aid Certified?
Yes, and I have certificates for all 3.
